Systems thinking and learning for sustainability

This paper argues that a fundamental barrier to advancing sustainability is a mismatch between de fragmentary way in which we predominantly think and the highly connected or sytemic world that we live in and therefore, that the "sustainability transition" depends on out developing the capacity to think, learn and act much more integratively than at present. Sustainability implies not only the urgent need for systemic awareness and understanding, but also systemic wisdom.
